KAYES

Kayes region of Mali is the Palma City Council has included in its plan for international cooperation as an area of maximum attention.       More than one and a half million people live in this area, divided into 7 circles, communes or provinces and 129 municipalities.Agriculture and animal husbandry are the occupations of a  population that does not have many alternatives.

In a subsistence economy, working conditions, health and education are   directly affected: indicators of Mali are among the worst in the world.

Another major problem of Kayes, as in the rest of the country and throughout the African continent, is water.

Kayes es una región de Mali que el Ayuntamiento de Palma ha incluido en su plan de cooperación internacional como área de máxima atención.La habita un millón y medio de personas, distribuidas en 7 círculos o provincias y 129 comunas o municipios.La agricultura y la ganadería son las ocupaciones de una población que no tiene muchas alternativas.

En una economía de subsistencia, las condiciones de trabajo, de salud y de educación se ven directamente afectadas: los indicadores de Mali se encuentran entre los peores del mundo.

Otro de los grandes problemas de Kayes, como en el resto del país y en todo el continente africano, es el agua.
